Description:
About the Brown Scapular: The Brown scapular is an outward sign of the protection and solicitous care of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Mother of the Church. According to tradition, Our Blessed Mother Mary appeared in 1251 to Saint Simon Stock, General of the Carmelite Order, and held out the brown scapular to him, saying, "This is a privilege for you and the order; whoever dies wearing this Scapular will be saved."
Mary wants to help every human being find Jesus, and follow Him to eternal life. The scapular is a sign of Mary's patronage and protection, to help lead us closer and closer to Mary and to God, "who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth."
