R.J. Toomey gothic IHS chasuble collection G4051-52
This four [white, red, violet, previously available green) gothic IHS chasuble (Sorrento collection) G4051-52 set [Autom July/August catalog p. 211], is a "Best Seller". I have presented sets of these beautiful chasubles as gifts and they are well received and stunning! Due to R.J. Toomey's (Worchester, MA) closure and their outsourcing of production to China, the green chasuble, for some unspecified reason, is no longer available from any on line religious apparel vender (including Walmart and eBay). Why Toomey would discontinue production of the green chasuble from this set is inscrutable, since green, the color of Ordinary Time, is the most frequently used color of the Catholic liturgical year! I hope that R.J. Toomey or its new company will reconsider its poor decision to discontinue the green chasuble and IHS design, and resume manufacture of this beautiful set of chasubles in all colors including green and add a fifth, rose-colored chasuble to the set for Gaudete and Laetare Sundays.
