Like the T.V. commercial, "Try it you will like it"
The RSV has been my choice of Bible for 45 years. I Just purchased Dr. Scott Hahn's new Ignatius Catholic Bible Old and New Testaments, again RSV. I've collected Catholic Bibles all of my life and I am 81 years old. I bought the New Catholic Bible when it first came out and I've read it on and off since then. But still, I remained devoted to RSV. Finally, I started reading it because the type is easier to read than my large print Ignatius RSV. The NCB has notes at the end of each chapter and the RSV has none. I like the new translation which is still literal. I bought the small pocket New Testament, like it better that my RSV. Overall, Saint Joseph kept it high standards. Give the NCB a try, you might like it. It is my daily Bible I read.
