Pier Giorgio Frassati was an Italian Catholic known for his deep faith, service to the poor, and love of the outdoors, often combining mountain climbing with prayer and friendship. The phrase "Verso l'alto" is often associated with him. It means "to the heights", which he related to his spirituality: to always search for that which is higher than himself.

Carlo Acutis was a devout Italian teenager who used his passion for technology to spread devotion to the Eucharist, notably by creating a website documenting Eucharistic miracles. He died of leukemia at age 15 in 2006, and was beatified in 2020 after a miracle was attributed to his intercession, putting him on the path to sainthood.

Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis were canonized on September 7, 2025, by Pope Leo XIV in St. Peter’s Square, Rome - the Church declaring them Saints together as youthful models of faith and holiness.
